I decided to write this review for one simple reason: people, stop using mercury thermometers!
Drop your prejudices. One broken mercury thermometer is a much bigger problem for you and the environment,

than the time you spend learning a new device. Unfortunately, I have to state that most of the negative reviews on IR thermometers come from the inability to use them and from a misunderstanding of the principle of their work.

So, what I want to say about this IR thermometer.
The spread of values ​​in a series of measurements is very small, 0.1-0.2 degrees.
Measures instantly. In general, very cool.

One of the few disadvantages: the instruction was written by an amateur, "what I see, I sing about", "the main thing is that it should be beautifully designed." The instruction is unstructured, about the measurement of water temperature, the description is generally written in the clock / home thermometer mode. One important mode is not described in the instructions at all.

My usage notes:
on the thermometer turned off, a short press turns on the body temperature measurement mode (the "faces" icon on the display), a long press on the thermometer is turned off, apparently, turns on the measurement of the ambient temperature (house icon).
The human body and surrounding objects have a different emissivity, so do not confuse the modes!
There is no description of this moment in the instructions at all. And this is very bad, because. measurements are carried out by long pressing AFTER switching on, and you can quite accidentally turn on the thermometer with such a usual long press, "out of habit", and not pay attention that it turned on in a different mode.

And if you turn on the thermometer with a long press (i.e. turn on the environment measurement mode), and measure the body temperature, then the body temperature readings will be underestimated by about 2C!
To switch from the ambient temperature measurement mode to the body temperature measurement mode, you need to wait for the thermometer to automatically turn off and turn it on with a short press.

Also remember that surrounding objects, even of the same temperature, also radiate differently (depending on the material), and the table for converting the radiation power into degrees for all surrounding objects in the thermometer is the same, so the ability to measure the temperature of surrounding objects with this thermometer is very conditional.

It is also not very clear why drive a thermometer on the forehead while measuring body temperature (as it is written in the instructions). During the movement of the thermometer, close contact with the skin cannot be established, therefore, with this method of measurement, the thermometer lies.
Measure at one point! Yes, the temperature at different points of the body can be different, especially, for example, if it rises. If in doubt, measure the temperature at several points in succession. Installed at one point - pressed the button - released - removed the result.
Installed at another point - pressed - released - removed the result. And so on. Instead of one second, spend five, not a big problem. Or you can measure the ear temperature, which the thermometer also allows you to do.

There are no discrepancies between forehead temperature measurements and ear temperature measurements at normal body temperature. I think the only reason to measure the temperature in the ear is to control the readings with a rapid change in body temperature (chills / fever), because. Changes in skin temperature usually occur unevenly.

Because The thermometer sensor is non-contact, treat it like a camera lens. The principle is the same as that of the camera: registration of radiation, only the wavelength of the radiation is different (well, there are fewer "pixels", only one :). Therefore: do not stain, do not scratch, do not wet, if dirty - gently wipe without leaving scratches. Everything.

Also note that the cap does not protect the input "window" of the sensor. The "window" can get dirty, scratched. I strongly recommend keeping the thermometer in a case.

Thermometer electronic infrared AND DT-635 was purchased by me at a pharmacy for 1400 rubles with only one purpose: to measure the body temperature of a sick baby. The fact is that my youngest son is categorically against thermometers thrust into the armpits. In order not to injure the child's psyche, I decided to take a thermometer that works quickly, "without noise and dust."

I was looking for a non-contact device, but in my town I found only an electronic infrared thermometer. It will be discussed in this review. Looking ahead a little, I want to say right away: this device has both advantages and disadvantages, but first things first.

The whole thing is in a cardboard box. There is also a warranty card here. By the way, it never came in handy for me, because the thermometer worked properly, without breakdowns and complaints.

About how to use. In general, this device can be called multifunctional, since in addition to measuring body temperature (in two ways), a thermometer can be used as a clock, a room thermometer, and a temperature meter for any objects. True, when we pointed the thermometer at the room radiators (in winter), he showed us "Error". The fact is that the temperature of the measurement objects should be in the range from 0⁰ С to 50⁰ С. Therefore, an error appeared on the display.

There are two modes for measuring body temperature:

1. Temperature measurement in the ear.

How to do it? It is necessary to remove the light blue cap from the device, wipe the thermometer sensor with medical alcohol.

Press the power button, after which all the available symbols are first displayed on the screen, and then the "ear" icon and degrees Celsius remain. Insert the sensor into the auditory canal and press the power button on the case again. After the beep, you can look at the display.

2. Temperature measurement on the forehead.

In this case, the cap does not need to be removed.

First, press the power button of the device to check the performance. The entire character set appears and a double beep sounds. After that, we press the thermometer to a clean forehead. While pressing and holding the power button, we slowly draw the sensor across the forehead, preventing the thermometer from moving away, otherwise the data will be distorted. We release the button, hear a single beep and look at the screen.

The thermometer turns off automatically. The interpretation of the symbols is indicated in the thermometer's instruction manual (see above).

On the advantages of the device.

1. Measurement speed. It takes me a few seconds to run a thermometer across my forehead and find out the result.
2. The child likes the device. Our torment ended with weeping and screaming.
3. Does not contain mercury. You will laugh, but before buying this thermometer, we used mercury thermometers. I always imagined with horror pictures with a broken thermometer and balls of mercury rolling around the apartment.
4. Accuracy with minimal error. I emphasize that it is necessary to take measurements RIGHT . To do this, I advise you to study the user manual.

About the shortcomings of the device.

1. It is not very convenient to hold a thermometer on the forehead, pressing the sensor tightly. Here the frontal bone is felt, and the thermometer strives to "jump" from the forehead. It would be more convenient to measure at a softer spot.
2. The accuracy of the results decreases with incorrect measurements and with a low battery level.

The device is lying!! When measuring the temperature of a healthy person, it shows 36.5-36.6, this was shown to us at the pharmacy before purchase.
However, when the mercury and electronic thermometers show a real temperature of 39, the “A&D DT-635 infrared thermometer” shows no higher than 37.5.
We thought we got a marriage in the pharmacy they made a replacement, we were shown once again how to take measurements correctly: we again measured the temperature of a healthy person, got a result of 36.6, and when we measured the fever at home, the wrong result was displayed again.
We bought a thermometer to measure the temperature of a child, but, unfortunately, it does not fulfill its function, as a result, we use the old electronic one.
I believe that the purchase of this product is money thrown away.

I can not say anything about the accuracy of the device. When I measure my temperature, it always shows 36.5-36.6. I measure my wife's readings in discordance from 34 to 37. Maybe I'm doing something wrong ..
